Dongyue Temple Rituals and Recitation Group
On the first and fifteenth day of each lunar month, the Shanhua Dongyue Temple Rituals and Chanting Group holds a regular prayer ceremony. On these days, members gather in front of the temple and devoutly recite scriptures, praying for peace, the elimination of disasters, and the growth of blessings and wisdom for the faithful.
After the chanting ceremony is completed, the petition is read respectfully and reported to the Emperor of Mount Tai by a special person. The names of all the believers who lit the lamps are listed in the petition by hand to express their sincere wishes.
At the end of the ceremony, the petition after chanting the sutra will be burned together, symbolizing that the wish has been heard by heaven, praying for the fulfillment of merit, and drawing a solemn end to the whole ceremony.
