The origin of the LOGO

Like a word? Like a picture? Turns out it holds a sacred secret!

The center pattern of the Shanhua Dongyue Temple logo is inspired by an ancient and sacred symbol: the "True Shape of Mount Tai."

This symbol first appeared in Taoist scriptures and stone tablets. Currently, there is a Mount Tai stone tablet on the road leading to the summit of Mount Tai on the mainland. It contains a diagram of the "True Shapes of the Five Mountains."

The symbol representing "Mount Tai" looks like both a word and a picture, but it is actually a Taoist amulet, symbolizing "seeking good fortune and avoiding misfortune, eliminating disasters and misfortunes, and protecting peace." The ancients believed that as long as they wore or worshipped it, they could stay away from evil spirits and disasters.

In Taoist culture, Mount Tai, the highest of the Five Great Mountains, is considered a sacred mountain where yin and yang meet, governing life and death. It is also a gathering place for spirits. Therefore, this symbol is both a totem and a symbol of divine power.

The Shanhua Dongyue Temple enshrines the Taishan Emperor as its main deity—the "Dongyue Tianqi Rensheng Emperor." This stems from the Dai Temple in Daishan choosing the "True Shape of Taishan" as the core design of its logo.
